Ashleigh Contracts have been awarded the £300,000 subcontract for the construction of Fort Cumberland SST Sea Defences near Portsmouth.

The works comprise the uplifting of 14,000T of rock armour and underlayer rock imported by barge from Norway – with the stone supplies being transhipped from the coater vessel to materials barges brought to the beach at high tide and offloaded.

Works commenced in  May 2017 and are due for completion in late summer 2017.
